We review the properties of strange exotic states including dibaryons and pentaquarks, their decays and possible detection in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. In addition, constraints from pulsar mass measurements on the in-medium behaviour of dibaryons and pentaquarks are presented. Signals for the presence of a quark matter core are discussed, in particular the recent attempts to explain the observed large kick velocities of pulsars.
