INFORMATION

REGISTRATION FEE:
Before
June 1 the registration fee is $425. After June 1 the registration
fee is $500. If you are paying in other currencies please send your
registration fee to Melinda Laraneta, UCLA, Department of Physics
& Astronomy, Los Angeles, CA 90095-1547, USA. We do not accept
credit cards for payment of your registration fee. Formal registration
will be held on June 30 and July 01 at Grand Hotel Chia Laguna.

TRANSPORTATION TO SARDINIA:
The
airport at Cagliari is the closest to the Grand Hotel Chia Laguna.
It is from the airport at Cagliari that bus transportation will
be provided to the hotel. There are no direct flights from the USA
to Cagliari, Sardinia. There are flights from Frankfurt, Paris and
Rome as well as other major cities in Europe; please check with
your travel agent.

TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM GRAND HOTEL CHIA LAGUNA:
Transit
time between Cagliari Airport and G.H. Chia Laguna is approximately
1 hour. Bus transportation will be provided from the airport at
Calgiari to G. H. Chia Laguna and back to Cagliari Airport as follows:

HOTEL INFORMATION:
The
workshop is being held in the Grand Hotel Chia Laguna at Domus de
Maria, approximately 1 hour outside Calgiari. All participants are
encouraged to stay at the hotel. The rooms have been specially priced
for you. The hotel is a full service hotel and resort. All rooms
are double rooms. The cost of your room at half board includes breakfast
and dinner; full board includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. The
cost of the rooms in Euros, including tax, is as follows:

MEALS:
A
welcoming reception will be held on Sunday, June 30; companions
are invited at no cost. Coffee breaks are provided by the workshop
and are for participants only. A workshop banquet will be held on
Wednesday night for all participants. This banquet is free to participants
but there is a companion fee which will be set later when final
arrangements have been made with the restaurant. This companion
fee needs to be paid in Euros at the time of registration on June
30 or July 01 (not as a part of your registration fee or by check).

WEATHER:
Weather
in July in Sardinia is generally warm with moderate breezes that
keep the temperatures in summer more pleasant than they are on the
mainland. The average seems to be somewhere around 77F. For more

GROUP TOUR:
A
group tour is planned but we are still awaiting final arrangements.
Companions are invited at no cost.

COMPANION TOURS:
Companion
tours are being discussed but no specific arrangements have been
made at this time. The cost of any companion tour will be based
on the cost of the transportation required.
