Keck's MOSFIRE achieved First Light on on April 4, 2012. Ian McLean reported that his team had a successful two-night run despite the fact that the

This week’s Nature published an obituary of David Sayre, written by Janos Kirz of LBNL and John Miao. Sayre and Miao are widely considered as two pioneers
of the coherent diffraction imaging (CDI) field, also known as "lensless imaging" or "coherent diffraction microscopy". CDI is now one of the fastest-growing fields in X-ray science. See the Nature piece
